Albariño is usually grown in coastal Spanish regions, but this wine is from a little-known area in Rioja – Valles de Sadacia. You might think that the Rioja region is too hot to nurture a grape that thrives by the sea, but Valles de Sadacia is famed for its dry white wines. And this is a stellar example. Expect apple, citrus and stone-fruit flavours that’ll pair exceptionally well with seafood paella – or, as its label and name suggest, octopus.
