Butchers Block Red has a deep garnet-purple colour and intense aromas of black pepper and aniseed over rose petals, warm blackberry, blueberry and dark chocolate plus some dusty loam. Rich and full with high acidity and a medium level of fine-grained tannins, it has a long harmonius finish.
Part of the grapes come from the home vineyard that has some of the oldest vines in the Barossa, planted by Peter Schulz's great-grandfather Ernest Schulz. The wine has the drive, focus and intensity often missing from this Barossa blend.
