This right here is the The Muff Liquor Company's Irish Potato Craft Gin, named after a village in Donegal, Ireland. It features a selection of 9 botanicals, including rosemary, elderflower, lemon and mandarin, as well as Champagne essence. The spirit itself is based around Irish potatoes, which have been used to make poitín for many, many years in Ireland (and it's enjoying something of resurgence in recent years). The use of potato spirit for The Muff Liquor Company Irish Potato Craft Gin comes founder Laura Bonner, who was inspired by her grandfather, a well-known potato farmer with a penchant for making his own poitín.
Tasting Notes
Zesty citrus, a hint of elderflower and a little kick of spice lead in this juniper-forward gin, before bittersweet mandarin emerges.
